Death is a tough subject especially when we lose a loved one. We are left with a chose to mourn the death or to celebrate the passing of a loved one. Naturally, we want to comfort those in mourning and there is no better comfort to us than the truth of the word of God. The truth is that for the believer death is a passing from the corruptible body to take on the incorruptible one. In scriptures we read there are two deaths to consider. The first death is the death of our flesh body and that death is appointed to every man. We are instructed to not fear this first death but to only fear the second one. The second death is described as after the first death our soul and spirit, which is bound by a silver cord that no man can part but only can be parted by God, must stand before a Holy and Just God to give account of our life. Then comes the judgement of life eternal with God in paradise or the separation in torment without God. So, to the believer the first death of the flesh body should be a celebration of the birth date of the deceased putting on the incorruptible body of promise. Instead of remembering an anniversary of mourning in subsequent years, shouldn't we be celebrating a birth date of victory for that person? I believe God's word and promise on the matter to be, Yes and Amen! I write these things 2 u but they are first and foremost 4 me. That is why I titled my website 2u4me.org. Thank you, God for being Faithful, True, Holy and Just forever. Amen.
