I wish to share about the subject of precepts because sharing God's word gives me great joy and strength. In scriptures we read about precept upon precept; line upon line; here a little, there a little. The word precept is two parts, pre meaning before like with preview or before we view. Scept is short for scepter meaning a king's scepter. When a king is ready to decide a matter, he reaches for his scepter to make a decree. The whole court gets quiet because what the king says next is law that applies to everyone. It becomes the king's decree. Likewise, the reborn believer as kings and priests representing our King and High Priest must follow God's precepts to be qualified to take our scepter in hand to issue a decree in His name. The scripture "Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee." has a precept of submit to God. Only if we obey the precept of being submitted to God are we qualified to take the scepter in hand and declare the decree that applies to all in our King's land, even the ruler of this world. It is essential to realize that as Christ's ambassadors we have His backing of power and authority when working to accomplish His will. It is this knowledge that makes me want to shout, Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus! for you deserve all the Glory, all the Power and all the Praise! Lord, I pray these words encourage, edify and empower my fellow servants in Christ. Amen.
